SmarterMail on your iPhone or iPad with IMAP

Setting up SmarterMail on your iPad or iPhone
Step 1:

Click on Settings.

- Select: "Mail, Contacts and Calendars."

- Under the Accounts (heading, will list other email accounts), Click: "Add Account" .

- On the Add account screen, Select "Other" as the email account type.

- Under Mail (heading), select: Add Mail Account.

Step 2:

This should be the Account Information Screen.

- Fill in the following information:

- Name, Email Address, Password.

- Setup a description for the Account. Click Next. (Suggestion: Name - work email).

Step 3:

Account Information Continued for New Account.

- At the top of the screen, make sure "IMAP" is selected. (It will be highlighted in Blue).

- Fill in the Rest of the information below.

Section: Incoming Mail Server

Host Name: Enter Mail Server (mail.yourdomainname.com) - or you may use mail.virtualdensity.com

User Name: Full email address

Password: Enter Pass

Section: Outgoing Mail Server:

Host Name: Enter Mail Server (mail.yourdomainname.com) - or you may use mail.virtualdensity.com

User Name: Full email address

Password: Enter Pass

Click Next

Step 4:

The iphone will now attempt to connect to the Mail server and prompt with the following Errors.

Error Prompt 1:

Cannot Verify Identity of (Mail.yourdomainname.com), would you like to continue anyway?

- Select: Yes

Error Prompt 2:

Cannot connect with SSL, do you want to setup account with SSL.

- Select: Yes

Step 5:

It should automatically continue to try and connect to the Mail server with new settings.

- If it connects successfully it should display Options to turn on Mail and Notes.

- Click Save.

- Should display something to the similar to "Account Added Successfully".
